The event is free and open to the public. It features performances by the Duquesne University Pappert Women’s Chorale, University of Pittsburgh Women’s Choral Ensemble, Pine-Richland High School Women’s Ensemble and Carica Milica Serbian Women’s Choir.
The high school’s Women’s Choir is a 70-voice vocal ensemble open to any girl in grades nine through 12 who would like to be in a singing ensemble. The Women's Choir performs at all high school concerts along with the Symphonic Choir and also collaborates with them on special performances of larger works with the high school bands or orchestra.
The Women’s Choir will join with the Symphonic Choir as guests along with the Carson Middle School Choir on a subscription holiday concert for the River City Brass Band in December. They also will travel with the rest of the high school choral program this spring to Hershey to compete in the 2015 Music in the Parks festival.
