An alumni choir event is being planned for the weekend of October 3-4, 2014. Anyone who sang with the North Hills Choirs under Mr. Cummings, Mr. Gilsdorff, Mrs. McKinney, Miss Valliant, or Mr. Cloonan is invited to participate. Social events will take place as well as a rehearsal and concert, keeping the strong tradition of great choral music going. For more information about the event, click on the "Alumni Choir" link to the left.

Disney has just rolled out a new online and mobile feature called MyDisneyExperience. You can customize your trip itinerary, upgrade and schedule FastPass options for rides, make reservations at dining locations, and share your information using the Family and Friends feature.
To create an account, you can either go to https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/ or download the mobile app in either the Apple App Store or Android Google Play. Once you have registered, you can add the North Hills Choir account under the Family and Friends option. The first name is North Hills (with the space between) and the last name is Choirs (plural). Put in the age as 35 (it asked for my birthday to register!). Then check or click "invite to plan and share." It will ask for an e-mail address. Type in email@example.com. I will then receive an invitation to accept. Once you have been accepted, you can see the whole trip itinerary that has been loaded on the site/app.
On the bus ride down, we will pass around a list with your pass card bar code numbers if you woult like to add it to your account on the app. Once your information is entered, you can pre-register for fastpass options to various rides at scheduled times, and you can share that with friends once they are also registered.
This is all new within the past month, so we are learning together how best to make use of this technology. Log on, play around, and if you find more features, let everyone know. And mom and dad who might be staying home, you can create an account online, too, add your kids, and see what they're up to with us!
There have been a few questions regarding the meal coupons that will be distributed on the trip next week. These do not work in the same way as the Disney Dining Cards, where you have a set amount to spend. There is a list of dining locations in which the meal coupons are accepted; however rather than having a dollar amount, you are given a full meal at that location. There is no "remaining balance" after using the meal. It is similar to a college dining hall meal plan, where the swipe counts as one of the meals, regardless of what you eat. Below is what the coupons look like, with the details of what they specifically get you.
If you think you'll want to purchase additional snack items other than your meals, you should plan to bring additional spending money. These coupons assure us that everyone is eating actual meals during the day and not trying to exist for 4 days on only snacks! We have long days in the parks walking around and performing, so it is important to make sure that lunch and dinner happen while there.
This site provides information and updates for students, parents, and friends of the choral ensembles and musical theater productions in the North Hills School District.
