Hello Choir Families,
The timing of today’s snow caused a situation where the roads could not be cleared sufficiently to attend school. The snow should be tapering off, so by this evening the roads and facilities should be safe for travel.
With that, band was given permission to hold rehearsal from 6-8 PM including luggage drop off and medication drop off as planned.
We will do the same. No rehearsal since we did that yesterday. But medication and luggage drop off from 6:00-8:00pm in the high school choir room. Use the auditorium doors to get in the building. Also, if you didn’t get your performance polo or Trip t-shirt, you can pick that up tonight during the same times.
North Hills High School actors and actresses will take to the stage to perform “Dames at Sea” on March 8 to 10 and 15 to 17 at 7:30 p.m. All performances of the musical will be held in the North Hills High School auditorium.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. All seats for evening performances are reserved. Tickets can be purchased in Activities and Athletics Office in the high school on weekdays from Feb. 22 to March 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. Additional ticket sales dates are Feb. 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the middle school lobby and March 3 from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the high school auditorium lobby. If available, tickets also will be sold at the door.
The cast will hold a special senior citizen matinee performance at 1:30 p.m. on March 10. Admission is free to district residents age 60 or older. For reservations, contact Activities Coordinator Chelle Zimmerman by phone 412-318-1438 or via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
About Dames at Sea
When talented, young hopeful Ruby arrives in New York City with nothing but a pair of tap shoes in her suitcase, she is determined to break into show business. She stumbles into the cast of the troubled show “Dames at Sea.” Ruby seems to be in luck as she makes a friend in clever chorus girl Joan and falls in love with Dick, a singing sailor with songwriting ambitions. But things take a turn for the worse when the leading lady Mona sets her sights on Dick, and the broke and pessimistic producer Hennesey loses the theatre, which is promptly bulldozed out from under the cast and crew. Can Dick save the show by producing it on a battleship? Will Ruby go on stage a chorus girl but come back a star? You’ll find the answers in “Dames at Sea,” a light, bright, and hilariously tuneful homage to the glamorous and hopeful movie musicals of the 1930s. “Dames at Sea” received a Broadway revival in 2015.
This site provides information and updates for students, parents, and friends of the choral ensembles and musical theater productions in the North Hills School District.
